Project 2: Designing with Architectural Principles & Materiality
In the second assignment, I’m challenged to explore my conceptual and operational processes to create meaningful architectural spaces. I need to select an architectural principle from my first assignment, define it, and then delve into its potential meanings and implications. My task is to use this principle to guide me in generating forms and crafting spaces, allowing it to shape my design decisions.
Model Images of Observatory Deck
In this project, we are tasked with designing an observatory deck for Taman Hiasan, situated within Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam (TBNSA). Our design aims to create an engaging space where users can observe dragonflies near the lake, enhancing their experience with nature. The deck is envisioned to offer a unique and immersive encounter, allowing visitors to closely enjoy the beauty and behavior of dragonflies while surrounded by the serene lake environment.
Final Boards of Project 2
Taylor's Graduate Capabilities
1.1
Able to put theories into practice
5.1
Understand team dynamics and mobilize the power of teams
This project has been instrumental in applying theoretical concepts to practical scenarios, allowing me to translate design theories into real-world solutions. By working on the observatory deck design, I was able to see how abstract ideas about user experience and architectural elements can be practically implemented. Additionally, I gained valuable insights into team dynamics and learned how to effectively mobilize our team’s strengths. Coordinating with team members, leveraging their diverse skills, and managing collaborative tasks helped us achieve our project goals efficiently. This experience underscored the importance of teamwork and demonstrated how harnessing collective expertise can enhance the design process and project outcomes.
