Theories of Asian Architecture
This module is all about learning how Asian architecture has developed over time. We'll explore how the history, culture, and society in Asia have shaped the way buildings are designed and constructed. By doing different assignments, we'll get a better understanding of Asian architecture and how cities have grown. We'll also learn to interpret the unique style of Asian buildings.
After taking the Teories of Asian Architecture for a whole semester, I really gained a lot of interesting knowledge. Moreover, this course is very magical to me because it is very different from what I imagined at the beginning. Before taking this odule, I really thought that it was just Teories of Asian Architecture, which might be just a history class like high school, so I thought it should be a very boring module. But I don’t know if it’s a change in my mentality or my love for architecture, I found that when I was taking the lectures of this module, I didn’t feel as boring as I thought at the beginning. Instead, I enjoyed and listened to the lectures calmly, which surprised me. In addition, this module is not only about teaching basic Teories of Asian Architecture, but also can improve our critical thinking and our research ability, allowing us to explore and deeply understand the answers and reasons behind it, such as our second assessment. I think there is no problem with the arrangement of the course and assessment of this module, which is very reasonable, and the teachers are also very responsible, helping us solve the doubts in the assessment and constantly imparting new knowledge to us. I would like to express my special thanks to Ms. Lok Mei for her guidance. Whenever we had questions in our assessment, she would patiently teach us, raise our questions, and teach us how to solve them
